How we work

We are officially endorsed

We do not come to China to stand on the sidelines and criticize, but to help improve a society in rapid change where children’s lives and development are of utmost importance for the future. Cooperation is important to us, and we seek the participation of the official China. In 2007 a Memorandum of Understanding on CSR was signed between China and Sweden, and we are one of the outcomes of this official endorsement of CSR work in China.

Our initial funding comes from the Swedish Ministry for Foreign Affairs. In addition, some businesses have given start-up contributions.

Our future surplus will help us to become more efficient, grow, give more and better support and therefore further improve the lives of children in China.

The value of our work

We also understand the basis of business, and that our solutions must work as part of the business strategies of our clients.

There is an economic value in the competitive advantage it brings to be ahead of legislation and current standards. And by integrating a child-rights perspective into their businesses, companies can minimize the risk of being caught behaving in unacceptable ways.

We know there are many that want to talk about children and CSR. We deliver advice that lead to action and clear and measurable outcomes, not just talk.

Open and accessible

We know that businesses start from different positions. Some understand the value of working with a long-term rights perspective and have come very far in their work. Others have not even started. Some may even keep from doing so from fear of the problems and challenges they may uncover. We are open and accessible; businesses are welcome regardless how far they have come.

Leaders in the field

In today’s China, there is a lack of role models and good examples of businesses addressing child-rights. We strive to find and provide these examples, inspiring others.

We are regarded as leaders in the field and as a natural meeting point. Through our work we put child-rights at the top of the political agenda, make the lives of children better, and help businesses take responsibility for the development of society.
