UNICEF’s “Children’s Rights in the Workplace Programme for Garment Manufacturers” is expanding beyond Bangladesh to Vietnam, reflecting the country’s booming apparel and footwear industry, which employs an estimated 3.5 million workers. The “Children’s Rights in the Workplace Programme for Apparel and Footwear Manufacturers” rolled out in Vietnam by UNICEF will be implemented by CCR CSR. The programme will involve training five factories in 12 thematic areas related to child rights and the Child Rights & Business Principles

Participating factories are encouraged to establish family-friendly workplaces to help improve the situation of working parents, particularly women, young workers, children and surrounding communities. Upon completion of the project, these factories will have stronger knowledge, capacity and commitment to address child rights issues in their workplace and  becoming corporate champions for children in the apparel and footwear field.
