In September 2010 Sida financilly support a possibilities cooperation between Sun Yat-Sen University (SYSU) in Guangdong, China and a Swedish University in the field of Sociology and Social Work. Gotherbur University was selected as the potential partner in Sweden.

During the first week of May 2011 three participants from Sun Yat-Sen University, one participant from CCR CSR and one participant from Save the Children Sweden visited the University of Gothenburg. The groups participated in an extensive program in Gothenburg, contained study visits at immigration centers for youth, day care centers for immigrated parents and their children, health care centers for young disadvantaged boys and girls and discussions with active social workers. The three professors from China also held a half day open seminar at Gothenburg university where they presented research findings in the areas of migrant young workers and their problems related to education, parenting and alienation.
