Consultation on Children's Right & Business Principle Initiative
UN Global Compact, UNICEF and Save the Children have in close cooperation with a wide range of initiated and committed people representing the business sector, academia, NGOs and CSR organizations, from global level initiated the drafting of the "Children's rights and business principles". The process of developing this set of principles helpful to guide the business sector in realizing the rights of the child is now embarking on consultations in countries and regional around the globe. The final paper, after being approved this fall in New York, will be added to UN Global Compact's ten principles.
Consultations in China, jointly organized by The Center Office of Global Compact Network in China, UNICEF China Office and CCR CSR, are held on 22 June in Shanghai, and 27 June in Beijing. Both occasions are organized with the support from the EU Chamber offices in Shanghai and Beijing. The working sessions will bring together companies, government officials, civil society representatives, trade unions, academia and other relevant stakeholders in China to participate in roundtable discussions to provide input to the draft Children's Rights and BusinessPrinciples.
