The Communist Party of China and the State Council published a new set of guidelines on improving labor relations on April 8. According to Xinhuanet, the guidelines state that China will take steps to improve the wage payment system to ensure that employees are paid on time and in full.

This March, CNN Asia ran a special feature on China’s left-behind children, a consequence of the world’s largest human migration whereby one or both parents leave their child behind in order to find work in more prosperous areas. An estimated 61 million children in China – one in five – fall under this category. As an organization that specializes in child rights in China, CCR CSR’s Executive Director Ines Kaempfer was invited to CNN’s Hong Kong studio to discuss the issue of left-behind children to a global audience.
